In various narratives describing the encounter of people with posthumans or aliens, human stereotypes, human nature and the humanistic paradigm itself are exposed to the challenge and critical reflection which posthumanism has introduced and developed within the contemporary humanities. The articles in this issue are focused on identifying transhuman and posthuman themes and motifs in both literary and artistic forms of science fiction (including bioart, film and television series) from a posthumanist perspective.

Download PDF WLS_1_2021

OBSAH / CONTENTS
editoriál / editorial
BOGUMIŁA SUWARA
Posthuman topics in literature and other arts ■ 2 (go to article)
štúdie / articles
MARIUSZ PISZARSKI
Human, super-human, anti-human: The posthuman deep future in evolutionary science fiction ■ 3 (go to article)
PETER SÝKORA
Post-dog tales about human extinction ■ 18 (go to article)
JANA TOMAŠOVIČOVÁ
Parallels between two worlds: Literary science-fiction imagery and transhumanist visions ■ 31 (go to article)
IVAN LACKO
Saviors, naifs, or orphans? Translation historiography has since become of the most recurrent topics in translation studies in Europe and throughout the world. This interest is due to the still relevant sociological turn in translation studies and attempts to closely study the work of individual figures of translators. It only follows that such issues call for historical contextualization and explanation. The current issue contributes to this discourse in the form of partial analyses and reports about ways of writing translation history.

Download PDF <a The integration of scientific knowledge into the literary system and its reflection in the spectrum of literary devices reveals a research perspective based on Foucault’s dictum that scientific knowledge will always be brought into contexts that are inaccessible or unacceptable for the given special discourse.

Download PDF WLS_4_2021

OBSAH / CONTENTS
editoriál / editorial
ROMAN MIKULÁŠ
Interdiskurzívne konštruovanie literatúry ■ 3 (go to article)

štúdie / articles
IVAN JANČOVIČ
Medzi historickým faktom a fikciou: interdiskurzívne konštruovanie fikčných svetov v súčasnej slovenskej próze s historickou tematikou ■ 5 (go to article)
ALEŠ URVÁLEK
Zur Rolle der Geologie im interdiskursiven „crossing“ der Kulturen der deutschsprachigen Literatur zwischen 1960 und 1980: Botho Strauß und Hans Lebert ■ 16 (go to article)
JÁN JAMBOR
Der historiographische Spezialdiskurs der Ereignisse aus der NS-Zeit in Eva Umlaufs interdiskursiver Autobiographie ■ 29 (go to article)
NADEŽDA ZEMANÍKOVÁ
Interdiskurzivita spomínania v literárnom diele Christy Wolf ■ 44 (go to article)
EUGENIA KELBERT
Entropy as a trope: Yuri Lotman’ s general theory of communication as a case study in interdisciplinarity ■ 55 (go to article)
PETER GETLÍK
Literatúra omylu: O interdiskurzívnej analýze negatívneho a liminálneho poznania (s príkladmi z fikcie Teda Chianga) ■ 71 (go to article)
MAXIM SHADURSKI
From science to literature: The limits of Aldous Huxley’s interdiscursive utopia ■ 83 (go to article)
WALENTYNA KRUPOWIES
Literary characters and interdiscursivity in the novel “The Books of Jacob” by Olga Tokarczuk ■ 94 (go to article)
ALINA BAKO
Blended spaces in Mircea Cărtărescu’ s novel “Blinding.
